I know this may be old but, I wanted to share this interesting thing I found out. Did you know that you can change the pitch of any sound at will? Well I had the audacity to try it out. I found it by scrolling through the .inx of each dino and I noticed that some sounds like trex, parts may say pitched controlled sounds or something and I saw that some parts of the .inx looked different. Heres and example:
SFX_PARACALL001
{
animname=call_01_lp;
framenum=1;
volume=1.0;
Notice that this is what you may see when you look at it but...when I tried to put this when I saw the trex .inx there was a drastic difference in sound according to .inx the dinosaur(s) is/are using. the addition looked like this:
SFX_PARACALL001
{
animname=call_01_lp;
framenum=1;
volume=1.0;
pitch=0.7;
Male ^
SFX_PARACALL001
{
animname=call_01_lp;
framenum=1;
volume=1.0;
pitch=1.0;
Female ^
That was what I did to test this out and quite frankly, the lower the pitch, the slower the sound is. Vice versa for higher pitches.
So yeah if you're thinking about making mst's now you don't have to try to replace sounds for female/male recognition, just add this (Pitch=1.0;) underneath (Volume=1.0;) in any dino .inx. Like I said, discovered this myself. This might also peek interest in those who wanted to give different sounds to males and females. Since this just changes the pitch of sounds shared by the mst'd dinos, no new sounds needed. Too da looo!
