On Week 4. The total gross of GB2016 is just over $179 million dollars.

Not only that, but it had a weekend gross of over $4.676 million dollars.

It's official. Unless this movie has a miracle foreign box office boom, then this movie is a bomb. If it's been 4 weeks and you still can't reach $200 million dollars by now then your hopes of a rebooted franchise are destroyed.

So depending on what you read, Ghostbusters 2016 has lost either 70 million to $75 million dollars.

It's time for the Ghostbusters 2016 funeral, guys.

We really need some positivity in this thread.

At this point, I guess the only positive thing that I can think of is the hope that the Ghostbusters franchise gets sold to Disney. At the rate Sony's going, they might as well sell off the rest of the Spider Man rights as well.

It looks like the $70 million to $75 million dollar loss was low. The loss to Sony is now $100 million dollars.

^THIS!

Thrashing and flaming the fan base is NEVER a good idea and neither is attacking those with legitimate criticisms of the movie. Those things make me very happy that this movie failed. If Sony wanted to do diversity the right way, then they should have let GB3 3 be made and make it like the late 1990's TV show Ghostbusters Extreme. That show did it the correct way.

If Sony hasn't learned this lesson by now, then they deserve to go out of business.

It's been 5 weeks and this movie STILL has not made $200 million dollars.

It has yet to be released in Japan, France, and South Korea so that might push it over the $200 million dollar mark.

GB 2016 has finally surpassed the $200 million dollar mark and has made over $208 million.

It's also done very poorly in Japan. It came in 4th in its debut with the new Godzilla movie and Secret Life of Pets bulldozing it.

Apparently people hacked into Leslie Jones' website and leaked nude photos of her *shudder* on Twitter.

You know, this is getting ridiculous. Why attack her more then she needlessly had. Yes, it was wrong of her to label those who had legitimate doubts/criticisms of GB2016 as racists, but even so, she doesn't deserve this or to be attacked by legitimate racists at all.

I can't help but wonder if Amy Pascal still thinks that this reboot was a good idea at all with everything that has happened to everybody involved to this point. If she still thinks so, then she's the most incompetent person in the history of Hollywood.

What with Amy Pascal being gone, I doubt she gives two blanks about what happened. Despite my enjoyment of the film, I still am well aware of the stuff she pulled behind the scenes and it infuriates me since this was probably our last big chance at a legitimate Ghostbusters 3. If she's ever ask, she'll just use these assholes as fuel for her being in the right, and not take any responsibility or acknowledge that it it's another vocal minority spewing this junk.

While Leslie Jones has caused some of her own drama, she did not deserve this, especially since a lot of this is over backlash after that Milo whatshisname getting banned for tweeting that she was "barely literate". I gotta be honest, as someone who spends a lot of time online, I kind of hate the internet these days.

I really don't think she'll be untouched as you think. She still works with Sony and with Rothman in charge now, he can simply put all of the blame on her, provided he hasn't done so already. This was her magnum opus and now it's her magnum anus. It's only a matter of time before Rothman fires her.

As for GB3, I think it can still be possible, but only if Disney buys the rights and declares GB2016 as non-canon. After all, I don't think that anyone of the main cast will care that much. Kristen Wiig was actually not happy with the final product, M Mac had fights behind the set, we all know what Leslie Jones went though, Feig is a 50/50 wash at this point, so McKinnon might be the only one who cares at this point, mainly because people say she's one of the few legitimatly good things the movie has.

According to this, the Blu-Ray of GB2016 will have over 3 hours of bonus footage/deleted scenes.

As if it will make the movie better...

It's total gross is over $217.7 million dollars. This thing only has 2-3 weeks left at the box office. I'm surprised that Sony hasn't pulled the film out now.

So far, GB2016 had made $228 million dollars. This probably won't get past $230 million.

The failed 2016 Ghostbusters reboot has made just under $228.7 million dollars so far. It won't be able to surpass/get to $230 million dollars.

And the DVD and Blu Ray comes out tomorrow.

So GB2016 finally got to the Meijer store where I work at. Given how I work in retail, I can say that it's fairly common for new DVD's and Blu Ray discs to go on sale. I'm not surprised that the DVD is slightly cheaper then usual, but I never thought that the Blu-Ray would be this cheap though.

The failed movie had a ghost dragon and a giant inflatable T. rex that was possessed, but that's all that I know of.

Speaking of the failed reboot.....

After it's box office run, it only made slightly over $229 million dollars. That and Paul Feig himself recently admitted it was a bomb.

Here's the recent Midnight's Edge video about GB 2016. It's basically their post-modem analysis like they did with Josh Trank's Fantastic 4.

For anyone that has a half hour to spare, Blue Core Studios on YouTube just released an awesome fan film, Five Nights at Freddy's vs. Ghostbusters. While I already like a few GB fan films, the fact this one has such good effects for the FNaF portion of the film really adds to this.

Hey guys. Remember Stantz1984? You know, the guy who leaked the GB2016 plot? Well his moment of glory was archived in history. Here it is.

Well, Stantz1984 was completely right, this really was the plot of the movie. And it certainly lived up to the expectations of those who had read it.

Paul Feig's all-female Ghostbusters team will meet the originals in IDW Ghostbusters 101 #1. issue.

I'm surprised that they're even canon in the comics considering how much GB2016 bombed. Unless they are ret-conned as relatives of the originals, I don't see how this can work.

Alternate universes. The original team has already crossed over with the cartoon team via alternate universes.

Hopefully, it's done after how Sony Pictures restructure and are able to ret-con GB2016 out of existence.

I guess I'd be open to a Ghostbusters animated film. I'd be curious it involves the remaining original cast in a direct sequel to the first two films and is in some way a loose adaptation of the video game. On the other hand, adapting the game and potentially lifting the dialogue and recited in a way that lacks the energy and character of the game, to say nothing if it's Harold Raimis dialogue. If it sounds like I'm struggling for ideas, that's because while there is a seed of a good idea here, I'm honestly not sure how to execute it.

My idea is to have GB3 be more like the show Ghostbusters: Extreme.

My idea have Egon get killed by a really powerful ghost while saving his son, who sadly still gets paralyzed from the waist down, with the team disbanding afterwards. When the ghost is captured and thrown in the containment chamber, it eats all the other ghosts and gets even more powerful. It breaks free from the containment chamber and starts it's reign of terror once again. Basically, the new team are the direct offspring of the old ones. During the final battle, the ghost begins to use the Empire State Building to 'broadcast' his psychic thoughts and tries to take over the world. He's already hypnotized most of Manhattan Island except for the new team and their parents and now, they must take on not just the ghost, but his phantom army.

Here are my choices for the new team.

Garrett-Egon's son: Chris Pratt
Eduardo-Venkman's son (married Latino American women): Channig Tatum
Roland-Winston's son: Dwayne Johnson AKA The Rock
Kylie-Stantz's daughter: Ali Larter (She and Garrett have a budding romance.)

Oh boy...

Ivan Reitman is making an animated sequel to GB2016.

If Amy Pascal and Paul Feig aren't involved, then I can see this working. But if those 2 are involved...not so much. I can't help but wonder if Reitman is betting on Sony Pictures getting new owners and greenlighting his ideas after they give Pascal the boot as producer.

I don't think he has to worry about Feig since he said that he'll never touch Ghostbusters again. If anything else, he still has to worry about Pascal. That being said, I don't think she can ever have the power to influence the franchise again given how bad GB2016 bombed.
