Despite the FBI closing the case unsolved last year, new evidence has proved that D.B. Cooper not only survived, but also eventually worked for Boeing after his skyjacking.

I have always been fascinated with this case.

Donald Trump got sworn in as the 45th president of the U.S.A.

Anarchists/anti-captialists are making a mess out of DC (Battle of Seattle style) to protest. Losers.

Because destroying innocent businesses is such a great way to promote tolerance and non-violence... I'm still not a fan of Trump (perfectly willing to give him a chance, though), but idiocy like this is almost making me into a fan purely out of spite.

I detest Trump as much as the next guy, but the poor blokes that have to repair those windows aren't the reason for his existence.

Still, with some GOP bigwigs apparently trying to criminalize peaceful protesting, it's almost like they want this sh*t to happen.

I am still hesitant for what Trump's presidency will bring about, but these extreme-left protesters are absolutely pathetic. I almost laughed out loud at this one young woman who was recorded on camera who went from sobbing to screaming during the inauguration. All the while she's sitting on her bum, and not moving. Way to "take a stand", there. No wonder no one takes you seriously.

And on a more personal level, the destruction of Roman monuments at Palmyra hurts me as a student of Ancient History; ISIS must be stopped.

At the very least they're only getting weaker and weaker on the home front.

Yeah, they're still very much around, but they're not quite as intimidating as they once were.

I think a lot of people are going to be like that if these anarchists/leftist/anti-capitalist malcontents keep up this crap. That's one of the big reasons why Nixon won in 1968.

I'm not too knowledgeable about the TPP, so I'll read up and come back on that one.

Now that first thing, I may not be a Trump supporter, but that is one thing he has done right. Health insurance is important, but that mandate was absolute bull.

It might have a positive market response in Britain and Europe since that means more trade and economic opportunities in that sector to the affected pact nations. Really just means everything is better for Europe all in all.

I seem to recall a comment or tweet or something that said pointedly that Trump erroneously complained the Electoral College was a sham because Romney won the pop vote in 2012--he didn't--and how does he feel now. Made me laugh.

This election combines recounts and electoral college hate.

2 expert snake hunting tribesmen from India have recently been flown to Florida to catch invasive Burmese pythons.

I think that it's just too late for the python population to be wiped out. If they've been able to adapt for this long, they'll never go away.

Lol! Everyone always seems to complain when the electoral and popular vote don't match up, although that's kind of the point of the electoral college. The country isn't meant to be a direct democracy, it's a representative republic, and some safeguards are needed against mob rule (or else major cities would always determine the outcomes).

That would probably almost be about as successful as trying to get rid of sparrows and starlings in the US. They're technically invasive too...

To be fair, we did/and still do, have native sparrows before that one kind came over. And even then, I believe that the invasive kind is actually a species of finch.

Yeah, shoulda voted for a President who was going to keep this country as PC as physically possible. Cant say anything, cant do anything without being given a label for it.

That being said, there were some issues that arised from political posts being made in here so for the time being, let's cool down with anything having to do with politics, they're as bad as posts dealing with religion so I wont lock the thread but I will ask that no threads pertaining to Trump or anything else unless otherwise stated.

The Nile Crocodile is Florida's newest invasive species. They are far larger and deadlier then our native alligators.

Males: 13-16 ft long and 1200-1500 pounds but some grow up to 16-20 ft long and weigh 1 ton.

Females-8-12 ft long and 700-900 pounds.

Needless to say, when full grown they have no predators and eat anything that moves. Oh and unlike alligators, they have no qualms about eating humans. Well, if there's a bright side to this, at least we have something that will finally keep those pythons in check.

Kim Jong Nan, the half-brother of Kim Jong Un, the Stalinist dictator of North Korea, was killed with VX nerve toxin. The deadliest chemical weapon ever made.

In other words, North Korea used a WMD to kill somebody. Here's how deadly VX is. A tiny drop the size of 1/9th of a grain of sand is enough to kill a normal sized man. Not even venom from animals and plants is that deadly to humans.

I think it can work, but mainly for kids with ADHD. I myself have this. I was drugged from 7th grade until 12th but my body got used to them so I quit taking them. And even then, there were days when it didn't start to work until a few hours later. Today, my body has odd reactions that make taking these drugs impractical. Not only that, but I think that we as a society should be better off if we realize t that we should be able to make the best out having ADHD instead of drugging them to conformity via Brave New World, which is something society has been doing since the 1990's.

the way i see it, it would be a decent social experiment to essentially start a new school, or reformat an old one, and just try out something completely different with it: not only this no-homework concept (while also making the "new homework" mandated guardian-supervised activities as outlined in the article rather than just defaulting to sitting around with your eyes glued to a screen) and also adding in the provision of doing what Japanese schools do where, instead of hiring custodial staff and the like, students are assigned to that in rotating shifts at the end of a school day. that's not me proposing something to make American schools look more like something out of anime, i think it could be legitimately successful and is at least worthy of the experiment to see if it could be adapted to Western culture and if it could help improve our society, in the latter case by hopefully giving students something of a work ethic to start them off before graduating

I see that happening with private schools/charter schools first. Then we might see a few public schools do it. That or do some sort of fusion between this method and the current one. The problem is with the teachers unions who would oppose all this.
