| As we all know, there's a horrible virus plaguing the world right now and causing disruptions in our lives. How are you dealing with things? I live in Victoria, Australia, and we've just had our two worst days since the pandemic began. Thirteen deaths and 723 new cases yesterday and today we had another eight deaths and 627 new cases. Our aged care homes are a disaster, too. Lots of elderly people are dying and their friends/families aren't getting the proper information. From Sunday night, everyone in Victoria will be required to wear a mask while out in public. The Australian Defense Force have also out door-knocking and, despite testing positive for the virus, 130 people are still refusing to stay at home. Instead, they're going out to work or other places. _______________ The traditional greeting of Dinotopia: "Breathe Deep, Seek Peace"

| Things are not good here in the States either. Trump and his cronies are pushing kids to go back to school this month when we're still in the middle of an epidemic, and half the country thinks it's a "hoax" and are refusing to wear masks. Sadly I don't think we're ever going to get rid of COVID here until we get rid of Trump, and I don't think we're ever going to get rid of Trump. | |

I'm from the US as well, and it's just so frustrating. I remember 9/11 and when 3,000 people died, people were FURIOUS. Now, due to the complete bungling of response to COVID there are over 150,000 dead and rising. What's the response? Half the country is properly outraged, while the other half couldn't care less that their fellow Americans are dropping like flies, as long as their "guy" is right. Regarding myself, I've been able to stay safe by limiting my contacts from outside the house. I always wear a mask when I visit indoor places and try my best to keep up with hygiene and safe practices. It's been a boring summer, but at least I haven't lost any loved ones, which is my top priority. The PUA money from the government was a godsend and was THE determining factor in helping me get back on my feet. If that money hadn't been there, I would have been on the streets. I'm self sufficient again, but I know so many that aren't, and now that congress (really McConnell) has failed to pass a continuation of it, I suspect the nation's economy is going to nosedive even worse. I've already made this post way more political than I should, but it's infuriating to watch so many die and struggle for nothing. _______________ Formerly Honre123 at JPLegacy - access main security grid access: PERMISSION DENIED....and...:

| Agreed. As has been said, we seem to be going through the Spanish Flu and the Great Depression simultaneously. At this point I just seriously hope we survive this as a country (and world)! | |

| Our Premier has declared a state of disaster. Regional Victoria will go into 'Stage 3' lockdown while Metropolitan Melbourne (where I live) will go into 'Stage 4' lockdown. This means people can only exercise for one hour every day, we can't travel more than 5km from home, only one person per household can go shopping once a day and we won't be allowed to leave our houses between 8pm and 5am. _______________ The traditional greeting of Dinotopia: "Breathe Deep, Seek Peace"

| Just heard this on my local news. In retail, the only places that will be allowed to stay open are supermarkets/grocery stores, bottle shops, petrol stations, banks, chemists, post offices and news agencies. The places that will have to close include electrical retailers, department stores, food courts, footwear/clothing stores, car sales and hairdressers. _______________ The traditional greeting of Dinotopia: "Breathe Deep, Seek Peace"
