Palaeontology News : What did Dinosaurs sound like?

The discovery of the fossil vocal organ of an ancient Antarctic bird suggests that dinosaurs couldn’t sing, but maybe honked.

Some scientists are saying that T-Rex couldn't produce the iconic roars that we hear in the movies.

Scientists always knew that as only mammals can roar. They just created the iconic roar for Jurassic Park as it was a lot scarier than a croc-like grunt or gurgle.

I don't know about you, but I find that extremely depressing.

It's still assumptions. They don't really know for sure, just like with 50% in paleontology.

I guess the mystery is half the fun about paleontology though.

The best thing in paleontology, and science (+ history) in general, is that nothing is really set in stone but can be changed afterwards when new evidence/ knowledge comes about. It's ever advancing and isn't meant to have some kind of ideology behind, it just is. It's not like general religion where you are stuck with what you have forever, until someone makes some slightly different interpretation, and even then it goes to heated debate because there's no actual proof basis.

Quite interesting find. Wonder how far long the research will go.

anyway, it'd probably look a lot like a tiger, but what, keep some mark of its reptile heritage? some mark of insane evolution, like stripes, but you know, its own thing?
