John Williams. That pretty much it. This is also the time where BobGrill would come in and say "You know there is more music then Jurassic Park right?".

Dunno if you guys really care, but today my capo arrived in the post and I now have a lead for my amp so who knows, I might start filming and uploading a few covers eventually. Which songs do you think I should learn on guitar?

I don't really listen to a whole lot of music to be honest. Most of the stuff I listen to consists of movie soundtracks.

Joey Jordison Reveals Why He Left Slipknot

Quote :

Joey Jordison left Slipknot in 2013 due to “personal reasons”. He was a member of the band since 1995 and was the drummer for four albums. Now, NME reports that during the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards on Sunday, he revealed what those personal reasons were.

He said: “I got really really sick with a horrible disease called transverse myelitis, I lost my legs. I couldn’t play any more. It was a form of multiple sclerosis, which I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. I got myself back up, and I got myself in the gym and I got myself back in fucking therapy, to freaking beat this crap. And, if I could do it, you could do it. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life, more than freaking anything. To people with multiple sclerosis, transverse myelitis, anything like that, I am living proof that you can freaking beat that crap.”

Since leaving Slipknot, he has started a new band called Vimic.

Rhapsody To Rebrand Itself As Napster

Quote :
In a post on their official blog, Rhapsody revealed that the service will be rebranding as Napster.

They wrote: “No changes to your playlists, favorites, albums, and artists. Same music. Same service. Same price. 100% the music you love. Stay tuned!”

Rhapsody purchased the Napster brand from Best Buy in 2011. Variety suggests that the rebranding is to use the Napster and brand recognition to bring more users to the service. It already runs as Napster in other countries. It only kept the Rhapsody name in the US to prevent consumer confusion.

Rhapsody has more competition now in the form of Apple Music (15 million subscribers) and Spotify (30 million subscribers). The service has been forced to lay off some staff members and closed its office in San Francisco. A spokesperson said the rebranding and the firings were to “better position the company for growth.”

So...how many people are going to get confused and think the illegal download site is coming back?

Steven Tyler Says Aerosmith Is Breaking Up

Quote :

Aerosmith are calling it quits as a group after forty-six years. Steven Tyler confirmed on The Howard Stern Show that the band will launch their farewell tour next year and will be done as a group after that. You can hear audio of Tyler’s appearance below.

Tyler said, “We’re doing a farewell tour, but only because it’s time…I love this band, I really do, and I want to squash every thought that anybody might have about this … Look, there’s two bands that still have the original members, us and the Stones. I’m grateful for that.”

When asked to confirm the farewell tour by Stern, Tyler said, “I think so, next year.” He indicated that Joe Perry is aware of the plans as well.

Just got back from seeing Sigur Rós live in Stockholm and holy sh*t it was magical. The show, the music, the whole setup. A beautiful night with the Stockholm waterfront surrounding it and those magnificent icelandic bastards putting up the greatest lightshow I've ever seen and blasting their best music. I'm beyond words right now. So, SO glad that I went to see them. A dream come true. They are my absolute favorite band.

I already posted this song on the what are you listening to thread, but here it is.

I forgot all about this song, I haven't watched this movie since I was in Kindergarten. I have recently found a little interest in the show again, and this song was recommended to me. So, I checked the song out, and fell in love with it.

I love the powerful lesson of pushing our petty problems aside, and just going outside to live your life.
I love the melody, It's been in my mind for a long time, I just never knew it was from this song.

My I-Pod currently contains a grand total of 474 songs. Most are old ones but there are a handful of songs that came out in more recent years. A couple of days ago, I added a few more songs to my I-Pod. One of them is "Alyssa Lies" by Jason Michael Carroll. It's a really sad song about a little girl who dies from child abuse. Shown below is a link to the song's video clip.
