There should be a spoiler thread for Fallen Kingdom for people who've seen the film to discuss it there after the 23rd, but I agree that every other thread should be no-spoiler territory.

Okay...didn't think that there was still debate over that, especially since he had already confirmed three years ago they weren't being retconned.

From what I can tell, there seemsto be a sect of people that want to disconnect this current trilogy (and possibly consider this trilogy an alternate timeline or something). Trevorrow reinforcing the fact that all three OG films, including TLW and JP3, are canon stops people from doing that.

That's my take anyways.

How can some people think JW & FK take place in another timeline? as in JW you could easily tell 22 years had passed since the JP incident!

You do realize that he never wielded that much power via the making of JW since he was so new and that Spielberg wields most of the power. Right?

There is literally no proof of that whatsoever. However, we do know that Colin and Derek wrote the trilogy. They steered the direction of the new trilogy more or less.

There is literally no proof of that whatsoever. However, we do know that Colin and Derek wrote the trilogy. They steered the direction of the new trilogy more or less.

Oh come on. Do you really think that Trevorrow, who just got done making his one indie film really wielded that much power? Even he himself said that he was guided by Spielberg. After Spielberg was so hands off when it came to JP, there's no way, for better or worse, that he could have afforded to let that same mistake happen again.

Most of the reviews/reactions coming in so far have been overwhelmingly positive. I've only seen two slightly negative ones, and they both seem to be coming from people who are very much so Bayona fans, because they're both sort of stacking the film up to the rest of his filmography. It honestly doesn't surprise me, as this is the first huge blockbuster he's ever done. I imagine fans of Bayona's more intimate films might find a blockbuster in general to be a bit jarring.

But yeah, overall, it's being received great. Got a standing ovation that lasted for several minutes at the premier.

Was it? Oh okay. I always assumed that the people that go to the premieres are people that are expecting to like it so their opinions are kinda already made up to like it. Didn't know A Wrinkle in Time was received poorly at the premiere, though.
