| The heads definitely look like they'd belong to a larger animal, closer to the Allosaurus in FK than a raptor...although the coloring is weirdly close to the JP3 raptors.
The person who posted the first pic said she was watching Chris Pratt ride around on a moped - could we be getting a new version of the motorcycle scene from JW, but perhaps with Owen being chased instead?

| Jeff Goldblum spoke to Insider about Jurassic World: Dominion, which he detailed the very first scene he shot for the new movie with Laura Dern and Sam Neil. Goldblum told Insider: "The three of us were in a tiny little space and we were being menaced by ... a surprising faction of prehistoric creatures that you've never seen before."

| Interesting! Though can prehistoric creatures really be a "faction" - surely a pack, herd, flock, swarm, bunch, group or stampede? It makes sense that Grant and Ellie would work together again (or whatever they're going in this film), but I am curious how Malcolm becomes involved? Is the Jurassic universe ready for its first thruple? BTW, Luigi Boccanfuso has joined the cast as a "Chef" according to IMDB. I have to reiterate, I really hope there's not a plot about people eating dinosaurs in this movie, as ironic a reversal as that would be. | |

| I just read again some parts of John Sayles' script for Jurassic Park IV and noticed that a part of its story is set in Tangier, Morocco, where the protagonist (which is somekind of a proto Owen Grady) and his team of four raptors must free the daughter of a French businessman that have been captured by a group of local criminals. I wonder if the part of Dominion shot in Malta wasn't inspired by this, as Malta could be relatively easy to disguise as Morocco on-screen and that Owen Grady and what seems to be raptors or raptor-like creatures are involved, with Owen maybe being after a kidnapped Maisie than some rich girl and Biosyn agents acting as a stand-in for Sayles' north african criminals. Another difference would be that the "raptors" are antagonistic to Owen (some in Malta claims to have seen Chris Pratt's stunt double being chased by raptor heads) instead of working with him.
In John Sayles' script, we also have the base of operations of Von Drax, the villain, being located inside a Swiss castle in the Alps and a considerable part of Dominion seems to be located in a mountainous location, where some have theorised that Biosyn might have an important facility. As Lockwood's manor was already a bit similar to a castle, I think that this time, Trevorrow took the remote mountainous base part of Von Drax's domain and used it as an inspiration for the eventual Biosyn's mountain facility.
As it wouldn't be the first time that Trevorrow took inspiration from John Sayles' script, I wouldn't be surprised if Dominion ends up having similarities with what I theorised above.
What are your thoughts about all this? _______________ Check out my reimagining of Jurassic World here:

| Quite possible. After all, as you've pointed out they've recycled things from the Sayles script before (trained/soldier raptors, with Owen standing in for Nick Harris and Hoskins for Adrian Joyce, and the Lockwood Mansion with an advanced genetics lab and dungeon in the basement is similar to the Grendel Castle, with Mills standing in for Von Drax). Supposedly, Deinonychus will make its debut in this movie, and it even seems like we're getting a pilot character, Kayla, while Sayles had the weirdly named Darwin.
It does seem like Malta will have an underground dinosaur market or something, so I wonder how that fits into the plot.
So far, we have Owen and an African American woman (DeWanda Wise/Kayla?) in a remote forest, Owen (and supposedly Claire and Grant), in Malta, and Owen, Maise and Dichen Lachman's character in the snowy environment. Seems like our three major locales maybe? And of course Sorna possibly making an appearance as well.
As this movie seems really packed, anyone want to guess at JWD's running time? I'm going to say 2:30.

| I don't think that Sorna will appear. If you refer to that photo with Chris Pratt (and Demanda Wise?) in the coniferous forest, I wouldn't consider it as a clue for an appearence of Sorna (and the lab crate will probably be a background element). Many associated the photo with Sorna but it didn't screamed Sorna at all for me and it will probably be somewhere in the Pacific Northwest (some mentioned Oregon when the pictures of the drive-in surfaced).
About the running time, I think that they better make Dominion longer than the other films in order to not rush things, and they seem to have to tackle a lot of things given the amount of locales and characters. _______________ Check out my reimagining of Jurassic World here:

| Ive been thinking the same thing. Another thing I was also thinking.... apparently there was another script written around that time that had a bunch of kids in it. Im wondering if blue befriends a bunch of kids in the town she ends up in. | |

| I believe the script with the kids was an early version of JP3, where the adults were in one plane, the kids were in another and their plane was the one that crashed on Sorna. I don't know Blue would bond with anyone other than Owen due to his being the "alpha" of her pack. IMO she'd be more likely to eat a kid than befriend them. | |

| Interesting!
I wonder if the diner could be near Owen and Claire's place, assuming they might be living in the house Owen was building in FK? Looks mountainous...
Also, the theropod skeleton in what is presumably Grant's digsite looks like it's been prepared for exhibition...makes me wonder if he's making ends meat by basically hosting tourist dinosaur hunters? There are digs that do this. I'm not sure we needed to see Grant's digsite for a third time, but at least it looks different from JP/JP3.

| I really do wonder how the dinosaurs would be able to survive in a snowy environment considering how NONE of them where made to cope with cold weather. | There was a set pic from a while back showing a - Spoiler:
crashed military cargo plane in the snowy looking setting, from which the animals might have escaped.
We've also speculated on here that this could the location of the BioSyn facility, which is probably underground or enclosed if it is in this cold environment (like in the John Sayles script). So it's probable that there haven't been dinosaurs running around for very long in this location.

| Well, it seems inevitable that Universal will push the film back, as they've now delayed "Fast & Furious 9" until May 28th, (to avoid James Bond's new release date, which Uni is distributing international), while JW:D was set for June 11th. It seems very unlikely that the studio will release two big, potentially billion-dollar grossing franchise sequels two weeks apart. True, Warner Bros. is supposedly releasing "Wonder Woman 1984" and "Dune" one week apart this December - so far, as it's probable that one or both will be pushed back to 2021. However, even if those films stick to their current dates, that's counter-programming, as WW and "Dune" are aimed at different audiences (and the latter is more of a niche thing anyway). Guessing that JW:D will release later next summer (possibly July or August), but hopefully not as a holiday release in November/December. There's a lot of competition at the end of next year, including Marvel's "Eternals" and "Spider-Man 3", DC's "Black Adam", "Mission: Impossible 6" and RDJ's "Sherlock Holmes 3". Eek. Summer 2022 at the latest, I suppose. https://collider.com/fast-and-furious-9-f9-release-date-delay-may-2021/ However, on a lighter note, here's a video of Sam and Jeff being awkward and weird. I wonder if this is a set, I could sort-of imagine Malcolm needing his own bar? https://www.instagram.com/p/CF1K3GHjkRq/ | |
