Dinoworld

Figured this would be the best place to put this. Anyway, I'm working with some co-workers on creating an original dinosaur story to be made into an online comic series. I've spent several years already working on plotline, world development, characters, backstories and of course the dinosaurs.

Basic Plot:
In the future, a world is colonized that resembles prehistoric Earth. Set up as a tourist spot, many of those who land on the world would rather live there and have a simpler lifestyle. When the military pulled out, the Rangers were left in charge.

40 years later

Chief "Rex" Turner of the Northwest Territory leads his Rangers against the constant threat of poachers, trouble dinosaurs and incompetent citizens.

:NOTE: This is in no way related to "Sgt. T-Rex Turner" of the Jurassic Park line or my JP fanfilm.

Map of the main continent coming soon, as well as character designs and descriptions.

I'd love to hear thoughts and ideas. Hey, I'd even be open to hearing some story suggestions. The world I've created is very large, I just need to get some rules put down once I get enough of the story established.

Getting the first three panels up soon. Just remember that this will take quite a while for the story to progress, we are all doing this (writers and artists) in our spare time. Not much more than what I've posted here already. If any of you guys want to come up with some stories of your own there are a few categories that wouldn't interfere with the main storyline. Here's some things planned out right now:

Dawn of Scars
The main storyline. Ranger Chief Turner finds a new threat to himself and the Territory as well as a relic from his past.

Explorers
This is a big world. Adventures about the world over, anyone can write a story for this. In fact, I'd encourage it. I want different authors and artists. Just a few ground rules.
1. NO MAGIC! No magic! This has ruined many a good story. Therefore there will be no magic, spells, supernatural, paranormal or psychic powers.
2. No alien invasions. This is a world full of dinosaurs. Keep aliens out of it. The Predator might be allowed though...
3. No lost civilizations. This has also ruined many a storyline. The first settlers were the first sentient beings on this world.
4. No interfering with the main storyline. Not too much has been said yet, so as long as its your own characters it should be fine.

Origins
Character backstories, the first settlers and how things were done. It'll be a while before this gets going, but it will explain different aspects that may be unanswered.


The World
We're working on the map right now

Essentially, the main continent is divided into 4 Territories. NorthWest (where the majority of the main story takes place) is the only one where there are all four seasons. Mostly forest and plains. Eastern is Desert, separated from NorthWest by a tall mountain range. Its all desert. Southern is jungle, then there's the Island Territory.

Pygmy Island separated from the main Continent. Its inhabitants are the same, only at 1/5 the size.

Works both legally and in illegal campaigns, gets paid more by poachers. Milks taxidermy projects for all they're worth.

Very interesting idea. I like the concept art, I myself work in video and film...so it's something I mega appreciate. Done some storyboards myself for some short films.
