Lindsay Ellis make a fool out of herself. Hasn't she heard of how well Wonder Woman did? I really wish that MisterMetokur made that expose on her like he originally planed.
Speaking of Wonder Woman, it has now reached the $800 million dollar mark.
And it's pretty much confirmed that Patty Jenkins will be back to direct Wonder Woman 2.

I used to like Ellis (and I still enjoy a lot of her earlier reviews, just like Doug Walker's earlier videos), but she's had a stick up her arse for a long time now. I knew she was crabby when it came to that long-winded essay about how "Jurassic World doesn't deserve Claire Dearing" and having a few words to say about Trevorrow.
But her reasoning that WB is misogynistic has little do no grounding to it, especially since they've not only got the most successful superheroine movie on the block but also by the way they've responded to the film's praise and ensured the sequel has a chance of being just as good or even better than the first film. In addition to this, I'm content to wait for Batgirl to get the greenlight and enter production.

Not to be negative but stuff like transformers is also being produced by Spielberg right?
It is however odd for him, so he must see something in the joker.
Here's the thing, though. Other then the first movie, Spielberg has basically sat back and let Michael Bay do whatever he wanted. He's been like that since JP3 and JW was the rare exception. (I mainly attribute that to how Johnston was torn apart by the fans and how Spielberg was worried that Trevorrow might suffer the same fate.) I can't imagine Scorsese being that laid back.

Matt Reeves says that The Batman won't take place in the DCMU.

WOW! That's huge!

Man, the last 48 hours have been a crazy roller coaster if you're a DC fan. When the Martin Scorcese produced Joker movie dropped, I thought it was some kind of rumour that got out of hand. (I mean, if that can happen, I want a Steven Spielberg produced Superman movie! )
I'm still not sure how that is supposed to work, even when you consider that the Joker is not really supposed to have a concrete origin story, as evidenced by the "multiple choice past" line in The Killing Joke and the constantly changing traumatic stories of Ledger's Joker in The Dark Knight. Yes, the chemical vat thing has been used time and again in film and animation but that's mainly because its so recognizable.
As for the Matt Reeves comments, that was another interesting case - I thought it was a red flag signifying that WB was going to abandon the DCEU and basically create a "Bat-verse", if you will, despite breaking new ground with Wonder Woman and buying themselves much needed time. Now, recently, he's clarified his statements that the events of The Batman (and likely the whole trilogy) will be focused on the titular character and not feature cameos from other members of the Justice League. Which, IMO, is something they should have considered from the beginning, since Batman's rogues gallery would be small fries compared to the likes of Zod, Doomsday, Ares or Steppenwolf.

Don't forget how Zack Synder may be coming back to finish Justice League with Whedon trying to deal with the latest controversies surrounding himself. (Which he himself mostly made.)
I think that WB may have strongarmed Reeves into backtracking. That's the only explanation I can think of.

Well, according to himself via that one interview, he did say it was a standalone movie. And studios that have problems with a movie/movie franchise do things like this. (Sony strongarming the surviving cast of the original GB cast into endorsing GB2016.)

BIG NEWS/LEAKS via Reddit.
Aquaman pushed to Oct 5, 2018.
The Superman funeral might be ret-conned out of existence/explained as Kent faking his own death.
Superman and Lois will get married.
The Batgirl movie might not get made, in large part due to Whedon's problems.

Honestly most of the leaks about DC in Reddit are pretty fake I think.
Reddit only ever been reliable for a few things leak wise.

Why would they retcon the Superman funeral??
Especially since the marketing for Justice League has been focused on the other members of the league rather than Superman, and how often it's referred to that Superman is gone, we see it a lot in the trailer (and in the beginning of Suicide Squad). They've already committed to the idea that he died to defeat Doomsday, and alluded to the possibility (via the musical score) that the Codex will play a part in resurrecting him. I just find it really far-fetched and actively destructive to the DCEU by cheapening Supes' sacrifice by asserting that he "faked" it.

Well, they did get it right on BvS and Suicide Squad. And let's not forget about Stantz1984. Keep that in mind.

My guess is that WB learned the wrong lessons from BvS. I.E. They heard all the negative reaction from it via fans wanting it to take place in another movie so, if this leak is true, they are doing this. Besides, in the very end, you see that he's not as dead as we thought. Not saying it's a good idea, but it's the only thing I can think of.

I'm getting tired of this run around with DC. Warner Brothers need to get this under control and make official statements about the future. At this point people won't even be mad. They just want the truth.

I think they need to shut their mouths until things are official. Everyone likes to hype and talk, I get it. But with their track record as of late they need to shut up until papers are signed.
Case in point, the Batman solo film fiasco. Every other month/week it seemed like they would go back and forth on what's true and what isn't. And they are still doing it.
ck in May, we got the devastating news that Zack Snyder’s daughter, Autumn had taken her own life, which led to Zack leaving JUSTICE LEAGUE with Joss Whedon taking over reshoots/rewrites for the film. For a while now though, we’ve seen multiple rumours regarding these reshoots, and we can definitely say that the reshoots from a public perspective have been very shaky so far, this is further solidified with recent news that Joss Whedon has likely reshot/rewrote 1/3 of the film, it is definitely becoming more apparent that Joss Whedon has more involvement than previously thought on the film, but don’t worry it is still a Zack Snyder Film.
Unfortunately, it looks like the rumours of Whedon having a larger presence in the production of JUSTICE LEAGUE could very much be true, as we have reached out to Zack Snyder’s publicist and have been told that he will NOT be doing any press for JUSTICE LEAGUE.

I guess the rumors of this movie having a $400-$500 million price tag might be true after all.

Finally! Seriously, WB, that took you long enough! You're lucky Lucasfilm didn't snag her up to direct Episode IX...
Yeah really happy, I sense we will get a very high quality sequel for this movie now.
This is great news to hear. And given how Wonder Woman will take place in the 1980's, it's going to be a good movie. I can feel it. This is the best news for the DCMU since Wonder Woman passed the $800 million dollar mark.

Patty Jenkins gets a MASSIVE pay raise for Wonder Woman 2
She was paid a million to direct the first one, now getting paid 7-9 million to direct the second.
7X increase in pay raise at the bare minimum. So yeah WB knows they can't afford to lose her.
