Lt. General Hal Moore, the Vietnam War hero who was portrayed in the movie, "We Were Soldiers", has died at 94 via natural causes.

Detroit native and WWE Hall Of Famer, George "The Animal" Steele, has died at the age of 79.

For some reason it took me forever to recall this, but I remembered that George played Tor Johnson in Tim Burton's Ed Wood, which I consider the very best of Burton's career.

Another pro wrestler, Ivan 'The Russin Bear' Koloff, has died at the age of 71 from liver cancer. He was most famous for ending the 7.5 year WWWF heavyweight championship reign of Bruno Sammartino at MSG in 1971.

Alam Colmes, Fox News contributor and Liberal commentator has died at 66. The cause is being described as that of a brief illness.

R&B songwriting master Leon Ware has died at the age of 77.

It probably goes without saying, but this definitely hurt.  

And it felt like it came out of nowhere, from an actor who just seemed to be hale and healthy, and then he was gone. Whether it was a starring or supporting role, his presence was always appreciated, be it Aliens, Apollo 13, Twister, Edge of Tomorrow, Titanic, Tombstone, and even the Mighty Joe Young remake from 1998. And there are still other films he featured in like True Lies that I still want to see. It felt like his career was far from over.

He was briefly in original Terminator, too.

Anyway few years ago my aunt almost suddenly died from unrelated surgery that damaged her heart, but luckily she narrowly escaped and is healthy still today. It can came out so suddenly. Very sad that Bill had no such luck. Just last year I was watching him talking in the SDCC Aliens panel and he was so full of life. Of the cast, I would have thought him to be one of the last to go.

Christ, that's just beyond heartbreaking. Just like Carrie Fisher, taken from us well before their time... far more sudden though, this time.

Judge Joseph Wapner, the original judge from the show 'The People's Court' had died at the age of 97.

I used to see that show during my summer vacations as a kid during my elementary school years before he retired. RIP Judge. I'll sure miss you.



Game Of Thrones Actor Neil Fingleton has also died at 36 via heart failure.

With the passing of Bill, Lance Henriksen is now the last living actor that has been killed by Terminator, Alien and Predator. Although we can argue whether or not Bishop's demise was directly up to the Alien.

This is extremely creepy for me. I met a real actor on IMDb a few days before the closing and at first he joked to me that he was Bill Paxton...... and now this happens.

I have a terrible feeling the celebrity death train is going to keep going along. I mean I know celebs die every year. But it just seems so high profile as of late.

There's zero secret to it, and it's not going to stop now or in our life time, only will it escalate.

It's just that we've finally come to the age where major pop culture items we grew up with are old enough to have persons involved in them dying of natural or other causes. By the end of 20th century, the spectrum of pop culture was infinitely larger than at the start or even half way through the century. There are billion more pop culture celebrities and famous people now than there were in the 1930's or 1970's or whenever, further enforced by wide reach of the modern media. Globalization has wide range effects.

Rene Preval, who led Haiti though the devestating 2010 earthquake, has died at the age of 74.

He's the only democratically elected President of Haiti to serve 2 terms.

Later this month it will be 8 years since my beautiful Tortoiseshell cat, Chloe, passed away. She was 14. Last month marked 6 years since my dog, Hazel, died, at age 15 1/2.

Nearly forgot, a couple of months after Chloe died, my Gran also passed away.

Yeah, I'm doing fine, but seeing old photos makes me feel a bit sad sometimes. I've got Hazel and Chloe's names tattooed on my leg.

Yesterday, Joni Sledge, a member of the band Sister Sledge (We Are Family) died yesterday at the age of 60.

Blues harmonica legend James Cotton died yesterday of pneumonia at the age of 81.

Chuck Berry has passed away at 90.

All those days in my teens, listening my friends band try to play Johnny B. Goode in garage. All wrong, all so wrong that's pretty much my knowledge of Chuck, apart from obvious trivials
