‘Deep Blue Sea 2’ Would’ve Had Sharks with Weapons Attached!
While I want a Deep Blue Sea 2, this sounds pretty terrible

Lol, that shark tunnel network on the ship looks so goofy. But aren't most of the crappy shark B-movies like that, revolving around weaponized fish and stuff?
Renny Harlin's not a great director (even as Finn it's not difficult to admit that) but I think DBS is one of those films that could have been great... and I think potentially still could be made pretty good if re-edited in Director's Cut with all the terrible CGI shots and unfunny comedy bits were taken away. Some of the stuff is so potentially great in that film that it's shame to have the final product being so mediocre.
One of the best promo pics ever still belongs to DBS:

It's passable. Didn't see it in theaters as they wouldn't have let me in at that age. Think saw it on TV circa 2002-03 or something. I remember being extremely excited for it and then disappointed but still fine with it after seeing it. I also recall the original old school marketing web site for the film, which you can still access via waybackmachine of course https://web.archive.org/web/20030604145324/http://deepbluesea.warnerbros.com/cmp/frameset.html

Li Bingbing is 44 years old, what the ****? She looks like my age! That girl has found the fountain of youth. Even without makeup she looks young.
As for the film itself, the summary sounds terrible, and Statham's words about as convincing as my grandma knowing how to use mobile phone. "It turned out really good. I mean, apparently. We don’t know until we see it" -- Interesting to note that Statham was asked if the film was in 3D and he responded “probably.”

My hope for Meg is good. My feelings on how it will turn out... I figure not as well received as hoped. Without any footage yet it's hard to say, a big budget shark film hasn't happened in a while, although the Shallows wasn't long ago, so it's hard to say if audiences will take to it or consider it a big budget SyFy style film and ignore it. In other news: Deep Blue Sea Sequel Filming Now. Was excited until I saw SyFy attached. If it's not a problem, I implore you to check out Lake Placid 2-4, Lake Placid vs. Anaconda, or other sequels to big budget films on SyFy.

“Sharknado Week” Begins This Sunday; Here’s the Schedule
SUNDAY, JULY 30 – 5-Headed Shark Attack Shaped like a demented starfish, a monster 5-headed shark terrorizes the open ocean before invading the beaches of Puerto Rico, endangering the once peaceful island paradise.
MONDAY, JULY 31 – Mississippi River Sharks Sharks attack a fish rodeo on the Mississippi River, and it is up to a group of locals to stop them.
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 2 – Trailer Park Shark A tropical storm floods Soggy Meadows trailer park and forces a hungry shark upriver.
THURSDAY, AUGUST 3 – Toxic Shark A tropical singles retreat takes a terrifying turn when guests realize a poisonous shark is infesting the surrounding water. Not only will this toxic shark rip apart its victims, but it also uses projectile acid to hunt… in and out of the water!
SATURDAY, AUGUST 5 – Empire of the Sharks Set in a future where most of Earth is covered by water and the only land left is controlled by a warlord who rules with an army of hyper-intelligent sharks, unlucky humans are used as shark food. But when two friends risk their lives to rescue a trapped prisoner, those imprisoned decide to rise against their captor and his legion of bloodthirsty sharks.
SUNDAY, AUGUST 6 – Sharknado 5: Global Swarming As shark-infested storms grow stronger and more complex, the world braces for the inevitable – a global sharknado. This year, the mission gets personal for chainsaw-wielding leader Fin Shepard (Ian Ziering) and his bionic wife, April (Tara Reid), when their young son gets trapped in a sharknado and is transported all over the world.
