| Your prediction for Jurassic World 2 production budget?
As far as I know, JW production budget was about $150M (I don't consider marketing budget in this topic) _______________ Jurassic World exists to remind us how very small we are, how new. You can't put a price on that My Twitter: https://twitter.com/owenpratt93

| I think with the film's huge success, Universal will be all too eager to throw more money at it - specifically in the range of $160-200 million range, certainly not Pirates of the Caribbean or John Carter levels of cash.
But in any case, if the money goes into improved visual effects and funding animatronics that would be better than any amount of spectacle shots. I just hope Bayona makes the kind of film we believe he can make for JP. _______________ "Life will find a way."

| JW had a budget of 180 million before it was cut, so JW2 will likely have a budget similar to that. | |

| Agreed with everyone else, it will likely be similar to or a tad larger than JW's budget. They better use the extra cash to build animatronics though. Now they have no excuse. _______________ #RememberJPLegacy

| 200-250 million is my guess.
Edit: Apparently, JW's production budget was actually 250 million, not 150, according to deadline. Also, things like release cost, talent, interest, etc, brought the total cost to 795 million. still made a 474 million dollar profit

http://deadline.com/2016/03/jurassic-world-profit-2015-box-office-chris-pratt-steven-spielberg-1201725573/ Seems like a bulls---- to me. The $250M production budget could still be reliable (but still, many other reliable sources say around $150M), but the $795M thing... c'mon _______________ Jurassic World exists to remind us how very small we are, how new. | With release cost, marketing and losing revenues each week to theaters the "cost" could be 800 million but yeah that still seems high.
Anyway, JW was like the most expensive film in Universal history, expect this to supplant it so it will be high.

| I'm still having a hard time buying these numbers: an overall cost of production, marketing and cross-promotional budget of $795 million?!?! I can understand an overall cost (production, promotion, etc) in the $300-400 million league, in addition to how many millions were sunk into false-starts and years of juggling ideas and concepts around but not actually getting anywhere. But $795 defies almost all belief.
Universal are lucky sods for the movie making as much money as it did. Imagine for a moment that Jurassic World did above-average business at the box office; pretend it was the exact same movie we all saw but instead of reaching $1.6 billion, it settled in at the upper half of $800 million or $900 million. We might not have gotten a sequel and Universal might not have been so motivated to pursue the trilogy option and potentially half-arse the next film, and just milk the franchise rather than allow it the time and ingredients to develop naturally. _______________ "Life will find a way."

The thing is that talent cost were a lot more then usual, apparently, (accounting for 200 million), partially due to Spielberg. _______________ "Why did we choose this life?
