It was announced back in the summer of 2016 that Mattel had acquired the Jurassic World license from Hasbro, with the company planning a line of toys in time for the release of this summer’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
“Mattel, under its deal with NBCUniversal, will design, produce and sell a variety of toys and consumer products based on Jurassic World films,” Reuters reported back in 2016. “These products are expected to hit stores in early 2018.”
What can we expect? For starters, Mattel is making Fallen Kingdom Barbie dolls!
Jurassic Outpost reports that main characters Claire and Owen, respectively played by Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt, will be getting Barbie dolls in the coming months.
“Get ready for dino-mite action and adventure when all-new Jurassic World 2 roars into theaters on June 22, 2018. The collectible dolls in this assortment are based on the two key characters, Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) and Owen (Chris Pratt). Each doll is sculpted to the likeness of the actor and is fully articulated.”
These are expected for release on April 15. We expect images soon.
