Movies That Can't Be Remade/Updated

Found this on another forum and figured I'd post here. As we all know, movies tend to get remade quite a bit, and sometimes with a setting update to contemporary times of the new film's release. So thought I'd ask guys what are some movies that can't be remade in your opinion, or at least if they were, can't be updated to modern times. Will list a few I think will apply as well:

Jurassic Park
Jaws
The Exorcist
Ace Ventura

Just to name a few. Thoughts?

I really want to see a 10 Part HBO remake of JP which is alot closer to the original novel. Very dark, graphic & violent. Do agree that I hope they don't remake a film version though.

Nowadays George Bailey would be criticized as a socialist commie pinko who gives handouts to the poor. In modern America, greedy old Henry Potter is the hero who makes the poor pull themselves up by their bootstraps even if that means forcing to live in shanty towns until they're 70.

Agreed, I'd love an HBO adaptation of both Crichton's JP and TLW, but not a film so much.
