A very appropriate tagline for the resurgence of this series and the franchise as a whole

I hope we get some juicy bits of info to stir curiosity and interest!

So futile and generic. But what to expect from Universal, right?

It's not necessarily the tag line, I doubt Marketing would already have one by now and that's just a quote  from the first movie. We won't see the tag line until next year, they likely haven't come up with it yet.

As I've mentioned on another thread, this is not a trade show but a licensing show. Don't expect a lot of information, they're there to sell a license to enterprises not show off product. Any info about the actual movie that comes out from the people working there will either be nothing new or false, it isn't SDCC, these people aren't trained for the questions reporters or fans may want to ask, they're there for the sole purpose to have backpack companies and the like get interested in the product.

Ah I get you. And I saw your post on reddit saying the same thing man and I would have to say I agree about fandoms trying to get info. In this case the entire fandom is now convinced that they see 'volcanic embers' in the 'June 22, 2018' banners and nothing I say otherwise can convince them.

Also yeah people look too deeply for info that just isn't there sometimes.

There are more pics than that one you know ... specially from the things they are building inside.

As for the ember things, it's very likely the final JW2 art will incorporate something like that.

It's all related to JW1, but they're coming soon enough. Possibly today. Don't expect anything mind blowing (or really surprising) though in regards to their booth.

Mattel toys packaging?

I re-read my post and it felt a bit harsh, I didn't want to be a party pooper, I hope we get some stuff obviously but I just don't see it, it's not the type of event for that.

yeah Jurassic Outpost just posted a whole bunch of banners with the 'embers' on them and are now saying this is 'proof' of volcano thing. Despite what you said about the stuff not being geared to reveal plot points. People taking it out of proportion?

It's indeed rampant speculation, I would not put more validity to it than a random rumor. Basically they want people to be interested in the brand but they're not there to show anything, the people who go there and make deals don't even care about the franchises. The only people who I can recall got lucky was the Power Rangers fandom who got the logo of Power Rangers Samurai early because they went to the show, but besides that nothing. They obviously want to reveal stuff in Press Releases or trade shows.

It's basically like this: do you want Jurassic World 2 in your back packs, school supplies, birthday party decors, etc? You acquire the licenses and if you want to be ready for the movie the deals have to be made about a year in advance or more or you won't reach deadline, though it all depends on the product, I'm more familiar with backpacks. It's silly but it literally takes months of contacting the Chinese manufacturer and look at samples and whatnot and approve it, etc. This is the main reason why products tend to have a lot of early artwork and finalized designs are sometimes different in the licensed material. Of course anyone who acquires the license will get stuff early but also some nice NDAs that go along with it.

Fun random bit of information, this company was not interested the Jurassic World license since it wasn't sure it would sell but they were interested after they saw how well the movie did but it was obviously too late, oh and DC heroes sell better than Marvel at least for this company. I definitely learned a lot about how brands work and why companies make such "bad" decisions, it's all because of sales so they're not really "bad" decisions, it's what they must do.

a tweet that got over 130 likes so Im wondering if true or not the entire fandom now believes that pretty much that uni is secretly embedding code into its marketing about the plot. And yeah, good point about power rangers

I am also disappointed. There's nothing new with the banners except the embers in the background as well as maybe a volcano? Recycled Dinosaur renders and a poster with a shot from the last movie as well as a recycled tagline/quote. Hope there's better reveals soon.

I am dissapointed too, I was excited to see something new, not recycled material with a couple new tweaks. Atleast the embers point to a possible plot point.

With the volcanic embers being photoshopped onto the Mosasaurus banner, I started wondering if the whole island was due to break out in eruption, not just the volcano in the northern sector. After all, lava can still burn red even underwater; just do a Google Images search of "underwater eruptions" to get a frame of reference. If not, then I'd be disappointed and will gladly chalk that misconception up to marketing incompetence.

Well I tried to warn you guys, also at the TMNT fandom who wanted info on Rise of the TMNT, that's not really what this show was meant for. SDCC is only 2 months away, and we'll start seeing a lot of stuff in the coming year. By the time the movie is ready to come out, you'll be wanting to avoid tv spots just to leave some surprises when you watch he film.
