Oh man I must have just missed the very end; I wanted to leave a PM to Tyrannosaurus before it was gone, but I guess I missed my chance. Oh well, what's done is done.
Hard to think that its gone though. Never thought I would see the day JPL would be shut down forever. That said I'm more than ready to move on. So what's the first major plans the JPP staff have?

Tbh, its almost internet etiquette to do so for any site that is shutting down. One of those silly, but funny, things people do online.

Had my last post on JPLegacy about an hour ago, now for my first post on JPPortal.
I'll miss JPL a heap, I've been into JP and dinosaurs since reading the book in the nineties and still into JP today. JPL was a great read for me, got some questions answered, and got even got parts and props for my Jurassic Party.
Good game, all.
This was my nick on JPL, does anyone have my JPL avatar handy? :} (I thought someone grabbed them all)

I wasn't very active on JPL lately, but to those of you who were, is this an appropriate song to how you feel?(in case you missed my post of it on JPL)
By the way, anyone know if Tyrannosaur will show up here or any other JP forum as a regular member, or is he done with th JP community for good?

As of right now, he says he'll never been in the fandom again.

I wasn't a member for as long as many others here have been, nor did I post as much, but I really do miss it. I suppose being a member helped me be a born again Jurassic Park fan and that being a member here helps solidify it. Tyrannosaur should have shut down JPL earlier then he probably should have, but he didn't and we all should be glad he didn't.
As long as we have this site, the memories, and each other, JPL will never really die.

The morning after. Parting is such sweet sorrow.
Still have the one tab of JPL open from last night. Not sure when I'll finally close it.

What was the last thing to be said on JPLegacy? Anyone have a screenshot of the last moment? I was asleep, as I'm in a different timezone...
It sure was an emotional moment when I logged off and took one last look at the board last night though.
Also, that's a great and emotional image, Nedryland.

Well Ty had kind of said "Screw the rules, it's ending", so there was weird JP discussion regarding that stuff, and in the last minutes he posted it because, again, "Screw the Rules". It was all in good fun though honestly, no one was malicious. I got to be an admin instead of just a mod, Troya got to be mod, it was just some fun up until the end.

Rules pretty much went out the window that night. Everyone was loose and relaxed, laughing and having fun. I compared it to the last day of school, where everyone is just sitting around talking and laughing until its time to go. And I stated earlier that day I was gonna post some the minute before JPL closed, so dont say I didnt warn anyone. Anyway, let's not post that pic or screenshots of it like Nedryland said, or there will be consequences (we have rules, you know).

Posting porn on a website which welcomes persons of all ages is not ''good fun'' and is against the law. While Ty said ''screw the rules'' it doesn't mean we must lose common sense.
As I said; any follow up event or screenshot of the event will be severely punished, be they a normal member or a member of staff.

It is illegal to show NSFW material (without making sure the user is over 18) in a site that welcomes people under 18.

I see both sides. Should it have been posted? Probably not. But if Ty said "Screw the Rules"...well then as long as it's not child porn or human/animal abuse. Then well...I guess we shouldn't be that offended.
In any case, it's old news and we're beating a dirt clod and should not happen again. So let's carry on and talk about the good times.
