Actually, the U.S. Military is protecting the islands. Remember how when the Bull T. rex and his daughter were being escorted back to Sorna how U.S. Navy ships were escorting them? And let's not forget how at the end of JP3 how the Marines stormed Sorna as if they were landing on one of the Pacific islands during WW2.

But in real life, Costa Rica doesn't have much of a military and I doubt they have any planes can reach Sorna. My guess is that the United States in using the Monroe Doctrine as a reason to protect the islands. Costa Rica my have one or two PT boats guarding the island, but that's mainly as early detection and not much else.

In the books Costa Rica had a military so maybe in the films they have one too.

If that were the case, the Costa Rican military and not the U.S. Marine Corps would have been the ones that would have picked up Dr. Grant, the Kirbys. and Billy.

Once again news is slow. At least some more key art for merchandising is popping up. Blue and the volcano look epic. Cant wait for an actual still. Sometimes i wish i could flash forward to November(to see the trailer) but i wouldn't want to miss October.

Exactly! JA Bayona is very old fashioned ha and its silly for people to expect every director to post crap loads of news. I am still very hungry for news but it rubs me the wrong way when people say that this film fails in hype. The real marketing has not even started yet

This movie needs a much better and larger marketing campaign this time around. With Infinity War being THE movie for next year with all the hype surrounding Thanos since the first Avengers movie, JW:FK needs to have a great marketing campaign in order to avoid being left in the dust.

Frontier is the studio making Jurassic World Evolution.

Anyway I do think FK greatest competition is going to be Infinity War. The Hype was HUGE at comic con this year. Even people who were supposed to be guaranteed entry into Hall H this year were DENIED entry due to all the line cutters trying to get in to see the Infinity War trailer this year.

But yeah, it is unrealistic to expect that from Bayona to go and push forward news. He has his own likes and wants so when people tag bayona in sad face memes like "when Bayona doesnt tweet Jurassic news or 'when Bayona tweets other stuff" makes me feel kind of sad. We're not entitled to anything and when it comes out, it will come out.

As for Marketing, Wonder Woman was accused of not marketing early on but came in with a good marketing push as the film got closer, and look at how well that did!

yeah it was a meeting for Mattel shareholders idk. But yeah Blues def going to be heavily involved. I believe Blue is getting off the island with the rest of the other dinos.

yea and i think that would be great. Would make things a lot more personal for owen and shes a fan favorite. Every piece of merchandise key art that has leaked so far is looking really good, especially compared to what we got in jw.

With the release of the new movie, the release of a new park builder game and the 25th anniversary of the first film, Universal has a potential powder keg of marketing potential to exploit if they play their cards right. However, I would caution is that they don't go overboard with it like Sony did with The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and practically reveal the whole movie through the trailers. Even the TV spots and trailers for JW made sure not to show Rexy in full shots until after the film's release.

I hope some other trailer house company is charge of the trailers/teasers this time around. The trailers for jw weren't especially great and a good trailer will be key in convincing people that another jurassic movie should exist, plus this film needs more hype.

I think most of the trailers for JW were pretty great. The first trailer was admittedly rather bleh, but the global trailer and the one with the egg in particular were absolute class imho.

So Chris also posted this. Blue Halloween costume. seems they are really pushing Blue in the marketing.

Brooke Norbury is Maisie, not Lucy (Lucy was a placeholder name for auditions like Franklin/Clint with Justice Smith)

Also regarding Blue, I agree in that she will have a major role with her capture on the island, then heading to the mainland/Lockwood's Manor for the auction. I think she may also be the only Raptor in the film if there is no more that have been created by Wu on the mainland?

Rexy is old and probably won't be as powerful as she was in even the last film, and the Mosasaurus could be getting more screen time. I wonder if this means more of a chance for the medium sized carnivores like Dilophosaurus, Carnotaurus and Baryonyx to shine onscreen in some capacity. So far, they've yet to announce another large theropod as a rival to T. rex.

Well colin did say that there would be rival companies, so maybe while all this volcano stuff is going down, other dinosaurs are being made ha ha who knows, but i cant imagine blue and rexy being the only ones of their kind for the rest of the franchise.

Agreed, apparently the Mosasaur is in the film's opening scene but not sure if we will see it again after? Baryonyx, Canotaurus & Dilophosaurus are all heavily rumored so we may have a scene with them all if it's true that there are lots of different Dinosaur species in FK (more than we've ever seen before). Also doubting there will be a theropod to rival Rexy this time around.

Actually, in the few images of Rexy in the JW:FK merchandise that I saw, Rexy looked quite healthier then what she did in JW. When the only other alpha predators are dead (I. rex) or confined to the giant pool (The Mosasaur) she really didn't have any competition. It's a lot like after JP.

That being said, I can see a medium sized/medium-large theropod being in the movie, but being wise enough not to challenge Rexy's rule.

I wonder if Rexy will actually get killed off in FK or JW3.
