Maybe this is a way of re-canonizing the game. But if this was the case, it would be VERY heavy handed and would mess things up even more.

While I am excited for this movie, at the same time, I do wish that we were getting a movie that took place between JP3 and Jurassic World.

I'm inclined to disagree, but really, Universal has the final say. Though, Jurassic World: Evolution has an "Archive" in it's database which is supposed to go in depth on the lore of the series.

I forgot about Jurassic World: Evolution having that archive. Hopefully it'll be comprehensive and clear up some things. I would like a more tightly controlled canon. Never forget the map of Isla Sorna we fans had to create and reference to back on JPLegacy.

Indeed, as much as I love the fact that the franchise is back and that people care, it is VERY frustrating to know that the canon has been screwed up. To be fair, you can argue that JP3 started all that via not telling us where the Spinosaurus came from, the new raptors and why they look different, etc.

is it possible that since we got two teases yesterday that one of them was supposed to be for today? like we already had that one mistake last week so who knows what could happen, but i am hoping for some new footage today

If we get another teaser I'm gonna be AMPED. Universal might have gotten some smart marketers by releasing a little bit each day, dominating the news cycle for a short but effective period.

Unusual, yes, but I could see the logic behind it. When JW has to compete with Avengers, Star Wars, and other heavy hitters, it's best not to get lost in the maelstrom of buzz. Release the trailer and you'll generate a lot of hype-until the next trailer comes along. Divide the trailer up, make it a whole week long event leading to what is just a two minute advertisement, and you're looking at JW being in the public conscious for a week versus a day or two. I could totally be wrong, but that's what I would interpret it as.

It make you wonder what their marketing strategy is for 2018. Because with Infinity War being THE movie of 2018, they need to step up their game as to not make people forget about the movie.

I've read on Jurassic Outpost that Bayona and Trevorrow will present the trailer in Brazil during the day (Thursday)... Wonder if they will release it online, and then the NFL will show it again during the Game...

NBC wants it to premiere during the football game. It adds eyeballs that wouldn't normally watch the game. I would be surprised if it gets released online before the game. It will likely come online moments after it appears on the telecast, similar to the Star Wars trailers and Monday Night Football.

Not this time. They will wait until the trailer and then tune out. That or wait until it comes out on YouTube.

Man that teaser with them waking up Rexy is awesome, I really wonder what they are doing with her since Lockwood's men have already captured her. Is this scene on Nublar's east dock or is it in Lockwood's property? Are they going to set her free?

I don’t mean to sound like a complainer because I wanted footage and I’m getting it, but I feel like I’ve already seen about 4 tv spots before the trailer has even dropped. Ellen will prob show more tomorrow.

It’s a bit much imo.

I jumped when I saw Owen and Rexy.

That T-Rex tease is phenomenal. Why Owen would sit right next to the T-Rex head is beyond me, but the movie will surely give us an answer.
The VFX so far are outstanding, and it's still December.

Hype mode: SOO AWESOME!!!

Serious mode: I have to wonder, what are they going to do with Rexy? They can't train her, and that's the conclusion that a lot of people on YouTube seem to be jumping to. Why does Owen think this will be awesome? What do they have to gain from waking her up? Despite her old age, I hope she still gets to be a dangerous predator and a threat to both heroes and villains.
