It was my understanding that Furlong was only signing off on his 12yo likeness to CGI young John Connor's face onto Jude Collie's face. I believe they're doing the same with Brett Azar for a younger Arnold. But these articles make it sound like Furlong is returning himself to play older John Connor.

Opening ticket sales for Terminator: Dark Fate are worse then those of Salvation.
Considering how there have been so many Terminator sequels after T2, not enough promotion for this movie as there should have been, and last, but certainly not least of all, the ending of T2 gets ruined by

how John dies at the beginning of the movie
and it's no wonder how this movie is already in big trouble.
