Well, the Lionsgate movie was one hell of a non-starter.
I think at this point the new movie just needs to focus on the Power Rangers being the Power Rangers, not removing their powers or spending so much time in their regular civilian identities.

It makes you wonder how bad losing the license/rights to make JP toys hurt Hasbro and if Hasbro would do this if that never happened.
Between this, JP toys rights going to Mattel (and by the way, Mattel has really hit home runs and grand slams with the JW:FK toyline), and Transformers getting rebooted/remade after Bumblebee, then I wonder how they really are doing financially.

I think Hasbro's main cash cow is the MLP: Friendship is Magic franchise, which still has strong holds in virtually every British store I set foot in from toys to books. I've heard mixed things about the most recent season of the show, but for now they aren't hurting for cash from that series.
But back to Power Rangers, I wonder if Hasbro will seek to team up with their old business partners at Paramount to get a new live action franchise in the works, since Lionsgate isn't open to doing business with them. It'd be tough to say if it'll be a reboot of the Mighty Morphin' line, but it is the most easily recognized branch of the Power Rangers franchise. If done well, the Green Ranger Saga with a fresh creative vision would be quite special...

But that's provided if Hasbro has faith in them after Bayformers. Not only that, but did you see that one ME:AD video about how they are fighting CBS? That's a lot of uncertainty.

You can kiss that Power Rangers sequel goodbye. It bombed hard in China making just $1.2 million due to going up against Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2. and the Bollywood (India) import Dangal.
And it's only made over $135 million dollars.
That's all, folks!
Hasbro says sequel to 2017 Power Rangers film isn't out of the question.

RIP Robert Axelrod, AKA Lord Zedd. Before there was Thanos, there was Lord Zedd. He really made season 2 worth watching with just how spooky he was. The fact he knee-jerk soccer moms more-or-less forced Saban to tone him down is proof alone of how scary he was.

I also only watched Mighty Morphin (1993 to 1995), Zeo (1996), The Turbo movie (1997) then I lost interest untill Lightspeed Rescue (2000), Time Force (2001) and Wild Force (2002) caught my interest once more. Then I lost interest again and the last season I liked was Dino Thunder (2004). Then I stopped watching for good.
But still, the fact that Austin St. John, the very first red ranger is willing to come back at age 45 is still amazing. He was my first childhood idol and still arguably the icon I look up to the most.
