TLW Hero Bull T. rex Maquette Build by Milan Livada

Hey guys, I've been keeping this mostly bottled up around here because I wanted it to be a surprise, but since it's finished now I can't help myself any longer! Back in March I commissioned the very talented Milan Livada to build me a replica of the Hero Bull T. rex maquette from TLW. Knowing how much I love the original prop, he tasked himself at building me a replica like he never had before. And now, months later, we're finally finished and I'm proud to show off the progress Milan made!

Starting off with a recasted JP Horizon T. rex model bought off eBay, Milan set to work chopping it up and reposing the original pieces.




Before inserting it, the mouth was the first piece that Milan painted.






With the all the pieces repositioned, Milan sculpted in the gaps and a wattle to the neck:


With the entire thing remodeled, Milan added the primer, readying it for painting!




This is where the fun began. First, adding the base layer:

It finally arrived! I just got this BEAUTIFUL "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" Bull T. rex Hero maquette replica in the mail all the way from Milan Livada in Serbia. There is absolutely no skimping on the details on this thing. It's perfect in every way. It was a truly pleasant experience working with Milan on this maquette, and I wouldn't change a thing about it.

Nice. Do you plan to have a female maquette made as well?

If I did, I'd just have a Horizon model painted, like what this is, but not repositioned like this one was. But there's no plan for that for now. I've always loved the Male T. rex more than the female, I just find its coloration far more interesting. So it's future possibility, but not on the list right now.
