I live in SE Michigan, which isn't that far away from you and I can testify to this, since where I'm at is slightly colder then what you're at. I heard that next week is supposed to get warmer/not quite as cold, though.

Yeah. It isn't much better here. I looked at my Star Wars app on my phone for the weather and it compared it to Hoth. Nice to know it wasn't entirely hyperbole when I made such comparisons in the past. Razz

I'll bet all you freezing Americans would like to swap your weather for the weather I'm about to have. Here in Melbourne, Australia, temperatures are set to hit 40 degrees this Saturday, making it the hottest day we've had in two years. Even hotter will be the outer suburbs of Sydney, where it's set to hit temperatures of up to 45 degrees.

It's not even 10 in the morning here and the temperature is already well over 30. People are being warned to stay indoors and keep hydrated. Melbourne's temperature is set to reach 42 degrees with a late afternoon cool change that's expected (hopefully) to drop the temperature by 20 degrees.

Finally, a bit of relief, it's a much more comfortable 24 degrees! Yesterday's temperature hit a sweltering 41.7 degrees and the heat has been described as a "blast furnace" (some stupid teenager's been charged with lighting a bushfire). Today it's Sydney's turn to get the hot weather.

It got into the mid-50's today, but tomorrow the temperature will implode and it will be winter again. At least most of the current snow has melted so at least there won't be a larger pile of snow we have to deal with.

After all the warm weather and rain and snow melt (resulting in mud everywhere), the ground refroze. Now I'm back to trying not to trip on deep, frozen footprints while walking over grassy areas.

I still like moderately cold weather during the winter though (20s-30s F).
