That ‘Deep Blue Sea’ Sequel is Coming in 2018 and it’s Been Rated R
Kind of odd a Syfy movie has a R rating and more than likely wont have the quality of violence as the last film....unless it was filmed before Syfy got the rights to it, kinda like how Leatherface was a made for tv movie but was filmed for theaters in the sense.

The first movie came out 19 years ago and it's only now that they are releasing the sequel? What took so long and who asked for this?

I liked the first one. I'm not sure what they're trying to do here. It doesn't seem like it has any ties to the original. In fact, it looks more like a remake.

I liked The Meg well enough (even though it was nothing like the book). They saved the dog and killed Rainn Wilson, which is all that matters.
I still think we need a Jaws spin-off with Matt Hooper fighting a giant squid however.

I'm looking forward to 47 Meters Down 2, but I kind of wish they had used 48 Meters Down as the title even if that sounds a bit hokey. I really liked the original, so hopefully this sequel is at least solid. I want a trilogy at least.
Also, Deep Blue Sea 2 sucked. Nearly a carbon copy of the original with worse effects and nothing interesting about it. They could have at least expanded the lore and used a different location, but it was a lazy rehash.

As long as it's not a shot for shot remake, I may give it a chance.

I can go either way for it in all honesty because I do love the original Jaws, but it's kind of in that same state as being a classic you probably shouldn't touch or mess with. I know nowadays it would probably be much easier to pull off with practical and computer-generated effects. They could get away with a lot more in those terms. I'm not completely closed to it, but I'm not completely open to it either. If it does get made though and happens I'll definitely give it a fair chance.

Oooh, that looks good.
I can't see a Jaws remake being any good in today's society. Too much political crap running amok in the movie industry to really do it justice, and the overuse of CGI would be a detriment.
