Uhh, Palpatine and Vader were worried about Luke once they found out he was learning about the Force, hence why Palpatine was insistent on Vader turning him to the dark side. He was nowhere near as powerful as either one of those Sith lords.

I think that was also partially Palpatine saw this as an opportunity. Once Kenobi and Yoda were gone, the last hope of the Jedi would be Luke. So what better irony then to squash that hope by turning Luke to the dark side?

Also Kylo Ren is mentally unstable, one minute he'd feel remorseful and then the next he'd flip out and destroy things. That's dangerous to combat. Also we're failing to forget that Yoda didn't want to help Luke in his training to become a Jedi in Empire initially and even acted like he wasn't a Jedi so I assume that makes him a coward as well? Where was Yoda anyway? Oh wait, that's right, he was hiding out in a swamp. Obi Wan didn't really seek out a fight when he, Luke and Han first went to the Death Star until it was Vader who initiated that battle. Does that make him a coward too?

It is not the same context…
Yoda was testing Luke. Once the quick test was over he wanted to train Luke and make sure he kept the Jedi Order alive.
Luke in TLJ flat out did not want to train anyone, and was trying to convince Rey that the Jedi are the worst thing that hast existed.

It's okay but IMO somewhat underwhelming, has things about it that are better than TROS and things not as good. It's clearly an early draft and most likely would have been reworked before production.

Yes but they never ran into an island while saying "F... this, I am afraid of this potential Jedi prospect".
Darth Vader confronted Luke and with much confidence. Same with Palpatine. That is the main difference between them and Luke in The Last Jedi. What Luke does makes no sense. He more or less says "I am taking myself out of this fight, let the bad guys rule the galaxy".
Neither Vader nor Palpatine, Obi Wan or Yoda had such mentality. They were all ready to go when they had to confront an opponent.

With everything revealed via the novel for TROS it's super frustrating but I love nearly everything that it revealed at the same time.
I get films like TROS can't reveal everything because too much exposition and it'll probably be longer than 3 hours but at the same time it shouldn't have revealed nothing like it did.

Anakin still did kill Palpatine from a certain point of view. Anakin's actions left Palpatine's original body dead.
The Chosen One prophecy was fulfilled by Anakin but it has less importance now. It was just a temporary balance as Anakin told Rey "Bring back the balance Rey as I did" .
For me it was perfect as it was with Return of the Jedi.
Snoke was a artificially made abomination I think. The Sith Eternal wanted to play Dr. Frankenstein but with gene splicing.
Somehow it worked for Snoke although Snoke did look super old so perhaps his "clone" body was failing but it was somehow sustained?

I would've prefer Duel of the Fates. I wonder how the fan base would react to Rey embracing both the light and dark sides of the Force.

It looks like Kathleen Kennedy really did run down Star Wars for the sake of replacing the old with the new.

You know what the truly sad part about all of this is?
That there are still plenty of people who gaslight and misrepresent this as if The Last Jedi was actually a great movie because critics said so, it was loved by most because it made money and those who are mad at it are just a tiny vocal minority who is just hating on it just for the sake of hating on it or as if they just did not like it and therefore find nitpicks on it due to resentment.
When every day we get more and more evidence that this Disney trilogy was made without a plan and without an outline. The Last Jedi was made with the director not having any idea how what he did (or undid) would end up in Episode 9. There are countless Youtube videos that explain in a simple and easy to understand manner for everyone how the movie just did way too many things that make no sense, breaks the canon and creates gigantic plot holes and yet I STILL see plenty of people being like "Yeah, fans are toxic just for the sake of being toxic".
It is gaslighting at full effect.
No matter how many times I explain to people that the movie was not hated because it did not go the way fans wanted, it is hated because of how many things in it make no sense, break the canon and create gigantic plot holes, I still get responses like "You just dont like it. It did not work for you". As if the individual is the problem, or as if due to the personal subjective feelings of the individual that makes him not able to "see" or "enjoy" the greatness of the film.
Guys, many cast and crew members have questioned the film in many ways. Among those who have questioned the film are the creator of the franchise itself and both longtime original actors and the newcomers. Stop with this dismissive narrative of "Oh the film just did not work for a few fans". No. The film has been proven to have way too many things that make no sense, break the canon, and create gigantic plot holes that are just flat out unable to be explained.

It looks like there really are multiple versions of ROS, but Disney doesn't want to admit they were wrong like AT&T forced WB to do so via releasing the Snyder Cut.

It looks like we finally know what JJ's planned Episode 8 was.
Also, none of the future SW movies will deal much with the sequel trilogy.

In fact back in 2015 when the teaser posters of The Force Awakens were revealed, many thought Finn would be the main protagonist (and Luke) of the sequel trilogy because of the fact that he appeared with the iconic blue lightsaber in those teaser posters.
Even when the movie premiered back in December of 2015, many thought it was a nice thing to have a stormtrooper turn good.
But then The Last Jedi turned Finn into just being a guy who screams "REEEEEEEEY!!!!!". The Rise of Skywalker doubled down on that.
