I just think that he was playing nice since he's finally making Avatar 2 soon.

I think making David into a straight up villain for the second movie was a mistake tbh. I sat there in the theater, and I totally called the plot twist of him switching with Walter in the end.

Yeah it was pretty embarrassing the way it was directed. I mean when you show the two fighting and the last shot is them not showing who won.... like come on.

Yeah the prelude made it seem like he was warming up to her, and then he kills her and experiments on her. What the f*ck. And Daniels getting literally fridged and her last moments away in her existence knowing that David is going to kill her. My god.

"We've got a 'Predator' film coming out that is unexpected and utterly fresh. I just imagined that it would take 500 hours to read the script, that it would be interior jungle, exterior more jungle and then fighting happens, but Emma [Watts] went out and recruited Shane Black. From the first page, it didn't read like a Predator film. It's set in suburbia. There's a little boy and his dad at the center of the action."
I've already read some supposed script leaks about that boy and his dad part specifically. Pretty worried about this.

Here's the Midnight's Edge video about the unmade 5th Alien movie, the AvP duelogy, Covenant bombing at the box office, and the future of the franchise.

If Ridley Scott does make another Alien prequel, he wants to focus more about A.I. then the Xenomorphs.
I still don't see how Fox could allow another Alien prequel to get made with Covenant bombing and being so hated by the fanbase. Not unless they force Scott to ensure that Aliens is canon by introducing the first Alien Queen, anyway.

If it even gets made. At this point, making another Alien prequel would be dumber then making another Fantastic 4 movie. At least with that, Fox has a reason via the rights. Another Alien prequel that most of the fanbase doesn't want after the last one caused a big fan insurrection without any fear of losing the rights? You don't have any reason at all. And it's not like with the Star Wars prequels where they could blame George Lucas, either.

Coming into 2017, Alien: Covenant was my most anticipated movie of the year. After having seen it and owning it, I really don't want Ridley Scott to direct another Alien movie. It stings a bit to say, considering I love the franchise and Alien is my all-time favorite film, but it's time for Scott to let go.

Ridley Scott said "I think the beast has almost run out, personally."
And yet, he wants another Alien prequel...
Fox should let somebody else make a new Alien movie. Bring in fresh blood.

Is it too late to suggest Neil Blomkamp? I know he said that his proposed Alien 5 was dead and buried, but then again similar things were said about Peter Jackson's King Kong. All Blomkamp needs is something to put him back on the map in a big way.

That or bring James Cameron back. Have those two work together like Cameron and Miller via the proper T3 movie that's coming in 2019.

It looks like Ridley Scott wants to replace the Xenomorph in the third Alien prequel, "Alien: Awakening".
This is getting ridiculous. I don't see why Fox would allow this movie to get made when the one that came out this year not only bombed, but was/is so hated by the fanbase. It's not like the F4 where it would be a play to keep the rights from Marvel/Disney.

I think Ridley really has no idea what he himself wants. I think that’s pretty clear. He can’t decide if he wants more of a Blade Runner type movie with Replicant/Android philosophy or an Alien film.
It’s clear when you watch both his Alien prequels that he really doesn’t know where he’s headed which is a huge problem. Although I expect he reintroduced the Alien because he thought it’d please fans and I think the executives thought the same thing. I do hope for one final movie simply because I’d like to see where David ends up(I do not want it canon though).
It’s really a shame that Alien 5 wasn’t allowed to go on in place of this. Sure since District 9 his career hasn’t been amazing. But can we maybe try something different?
I enjoyed Ridley’s films for what they are but that’s my honest feelings.

At this point, he only way how fans can accept the prequels as canon is if Fox forces Scott to tell the origins of the Alien Queen or they remove him and let somebody else do it. I find it remarkable that a company known for meddling (Fant4stic) can give Scott so much free reign. It's not like the Star Wars prequels where Lucas held all the power and Fox couldn't do anything.

Not a fan of what Shane did with Iron man so I’m pretty worried about the handling of Predator. This article makes the film sound like a big comedy with some action. This is just one quote.
Quote :
"I haven't seen any of it, but it's gonna be funny. The kids in the thing. Yeah, the humor. Huge. Huge. I mean I was in shock, because, you know this is a really intense franchise, and it still is. Don't get me wrong. You're gonna be inside of it. But the characters are... what he did, Shane is an incredibly gifted writer, and he's a great director, and so he ended up getting an incredible ensemble, and when I reached it they had already been filming for three months so they were a unit. So I jump in as the General and there were some moments where I just had to laugh in the scene and I couldn't be laughing in the scene. 'I'm sorry guys. Really, I'm sorry.'"
Don’t get me wrong guys, I’m not trying to write the film off completely. It’s still a day 1 watch for me as I’m a big fan. And maybe I’ll love it. But this just doesn’t “SOUND” like the kind of movie I’m going to enjoy.

If 20th Century Fox gets sold off, then I wonder who will get the Alien and Predator franchises. I see Universal getting Alien while Predator could either go to WB or Universal as well.

This talks about the future of the Alien franchise now that it's at Disney.
I'm still surprised that Universal didn't try to get this and the Predator franchise as well. While they are heading for long term trouble, doing buying at least one of these franchises would have helped and they have made more then enough money recently to buy one of these.

Even though the Fox Studios will still continue under the auspices of Disney, I cannot state enough how much I don't want this. And I swear, if this gives them the idea to create an "Alien Ride" at Disneyland, then that's going to make any future trip to Disneyland (still want to go with friends someday) very awkward: "Yeah... one of these things is not like the others."

I can't help but wonder if some at Disney are considering doing a Star Wars/Aliens crossover. Maybe not a movie, but at least a comic book that's non-canon.
