The only thing we can be sure about this animal, is the size and aspect of its bones...
But as a living animal, all we know, and all we have seen is pure artistic creation!
So, I ask you what's your "favorite version" of the T. rex?
You can choose it from a movie, a documentary, a video game... or add your own!

My own T. rex reconstruction (which is heavily inspired by WWD, just updated to current knowledge, you can find it in my deviantART gallery and in my signature), followed by Saurian's, then the one from the Isle/The Stomping Lands.
As for retro Tyrannosaurus, then WWD's T. rex, no other even comes close.

From the movies I'd have to say the buck from the lost world (love the color scheme). I also really love the Rex design from Dinosaur Revolution and Sideshow Collectables latest Rex iteration.

Hard to say, but I usually draw Trex JP style with feathers thrown in. I do admire Primal Carnage's T. rex though, the roar it makes too, so powerful and terrifying.

The Rebor Tyrannosaurus is just excellent, so too of course the Jurassic Park Tyrannosaurus'. The ones with an EXCESSIVE amount of feathers just look wrong (I'm looking at you Dinosaur Island...), there's no way they would look like that.

Definitely ^Saurian's version, and also John Conway's interpretation:

Conway's T. rex reminds me of a pissed off Black Bear. Frightening.

That's exactly why I like it, and why I always point to this image when I find someone who says that a T. rex with feathers "isn't scary".

I have that myself. I'm picky about feathered T. rexes, but I LOVE this one. Get it when you can.
Also, try to get the new multi colored version of the Papo T. rex. It's not only more colorful, but Papo fixed the stability issue some of the first 2 versions (1st Brown 2nd Green) had. I also have this and it's a great one.
