Recent Forum Issues.

Hey Everyone,

Recently it seems there has been some issues with the Forum over the last 24-48 hours with posts and threads being deleted. I was unaware of this issue until recently and seemed like a database issue. I am unfortunately unable to retrieve the lost post and threads. I do apologise for this and will do my best to keep an eye out for these issues going forward.

While this can be very frustrating I hope you all continue to post here and enjoy the discussion that takes place.

Is it possible that it involves hacking of some sort? IIRC, Twitter shut down JPL's Twitter account after it was hacked into. Maybe those same people are causing this too.

I hope I'm wrong about this, but it's something to be considered.

No I confirmed it was a board issue. To be honest all of that is behind us and I'd rather move on from that. We aren't trying to be JPL, just a place where everyone can chat and have fun.

If the site were hacked, everything would be deleted, not just a few posts here and there.

OK. It's nice that it was just some board fluke and not something insidious.

d'you think this problem also has to do with some of the icons not working? i'd noticed for a week or two that the forum icons--including the ones for mods and admins--have broken links. some of them have come back, but not all of them.
