That’s sad. I know you guys hate him but I like him as a director. I think he could make a great JP film with a good script.

It’s not like he was coming back anyway, not that I think he should. But career over? Maybe he’ll change his mind.

I believe number 2 is the case but both are absolutely disgusting.

I think at this point, the FBI has to get involved via a sting operation, since the LAPD is just too corrupt via celebrity influence at this point. I have no doubt countless clebs and executives are trying to reach out to their victims to try and bribe them with settlements at this very moment. They know at this point the general public is on to this. I mean look at the box office this year. People are already tired of this pampered "holier than thou" attitude they have displayed in this political climate as is.

The LAPD is pretty much objectively corrupt. There are so many stories of them looking the other way for Scientologists because they are paid. So yeah, same with the famous people.

Back in the 1990's they were basically used as bodyguards for many famous hip-hop/rap artists. So having them escort Kim and Kanye was no big surprise. Personally, I think that the LAPD should be disbanded and rebuilt, and have the California State Police take over with the FBI watching them until the LAPD is properly reformed.

This is a very very idea for originality in the movie industry. Now I guess X men will join the MCU and we'll see more stuff enter disneyland.

I don't totally buy this. I get why Fox would get rid of the Fantastic 4. But I don't get why they'd sell off the X-Men as well. Enough people still trust Fox with X-Men. Also why would Fox sell off most of it's movie company when it's still very profitable? It's not like Sony or Paramount.

Also, either Jessica Chastain was really ignorant about Singer's alleged harassment claims, or she's making this up because of what's going now and got caught in her juxtaposition. Also, why doesn't she denounce that movie or quit? Oh yeah, it's all about the money she'll make. Typical Hollywood leftist. Never practices what she preaches.

UPDATE: The talks are over and the idea is now dead.

Disney should try to get Paramount and buy back the rights to the Hulk from Universal and Spider-Man from Sony instead. That and buy back the F4 from Fox.

ANOTHER UPDATE: Despite what happened, 21st Century Fox is still for sale.

I just don't get this at all. If this was Sony and/or Paramount, I'd get it. But I do not get this at all.

Fat Harvey had a personal spy ring to quash his 'activities' from getting out.

Spacey has officially been dropped from ‘All the money in the world ‘ even though the film still has its December 22 release date.

I hate it. The only scriptwriter who could have done justice is David Hayter, mainly because of the fact that he was the voice of Solid Snake for not only the original Metal Gear Solid game (PS1), but also for MGS2, and MGS4. He was also the voice of Snake's biological father, Big Boss for MGS3 and MGS Peace Walker. Add that to the fact that he's an accomplished screenwriter, and he was the ONLY person who could have wrote a good script.

Add to the fact that this is going to be made by Sony Pictures with Avi Arad being the producer, I have no hope for this movie. Metal Gear Solid just has too many moving parts. If this was either based on the very first 2 Metal Gear games, Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, it might work since they don't' have as much moving parts. If this was a standalone movie series which strayed from the source material yet kept the basics of it intact, a la the Tim Burton/Michael Keaton Batman movies, it would also work. But even then, another studio, Warner Brothers preferably. (Fox would be ideal, but they are going out.)

But an outright movie adaptation? By Sony Pictures?

one possible upside is that Metal Gear could actually WORK as a video game movie because it's so cinematic already. iirc Kojima had actually originally wanted to be a filmmaker.

Very interesting video, and one that I think will successfully prognosticate the future for the Big Six Hollywood studios. Sony, Fox and Paramount are accounted for in the video, and their issues are already well documented, but I'm surprised he didn't say anything about Universal. I know it'd be easy for any of us to simply point to Fast & Furious and Illumination Animation and leave it at that, but he could have at least alluded to why that studio is unlikely to last like WB and Disney.

It also makes me pause and question a number of things: if Universal's fate is the same as the other three, then should we as fans of Jurassic Park not be concerned? And it's starting to become more evident that people are getting tired of what Hollywood is currently is right now, a number of them wanting it torn down. And that implies a lot when you really think about it. Will there be any level of interest or acceptance for a THIRD (and pray to God, good) Jurassic World movie, even if Fallen Kingdom is a solid success?

My question is this: if a new, risk-taking film like the original Jurassic Park could not be made in Hollywood today (without having already been a hit in the past), then will whatever comes after Hollywood be the place for such a groundbreaking film and concept to flourish?

I found it odd that he didn't talk about why Universal would go down either...Really odd.

In any case, my feelings on Universal have been stated multiple times now. They are doing good, but the fact that this year's reboot of The Mummy killed off their Dark Universe is a sign of future trouble. After F&F fades away-people will get sick of it via the Transformers movie franchise-what else do they have if they don't get back the rights to Jurassic Park after JW3/JP6? Their animation department is crappy, the Bourne franchise can't save them, and they can't go back to resurrecting the Dark Universe for a third time. Unless they buy the rights of either Alien and/or Predator or try and convince James Cameron to make Terminator movies for them, although he would still hold the rights, they don't have anything else.

It's one thing that many fans didn't want another super hybrid after I. rex and how they want the Indoraptor to be the final one, although I still think ret-conning the JP3 Spino as a T. rex/Spino hybrid would be the exception to that. Add to that how Jurassic World should have been much better then it should have been (I still like the movie, but I do so more then I really should.) and how Universal only half-heartedly cares about the canon, and the more I honestly think that Universal is not as good people think and that the rights would be better off going to another studio. At this point, WB is my main default choice.

As for originality. I still think we might see modified versions of abandoned projects by Ray Harryhausen and Wills O' Brien get made. After all, Gwangi was a modified version of the original plan.

Not only that but I have to ask. How would the anti-trust rules effect WB and Disney if they are the only 2 major Hollywood studios left standing? I see that MGM is coming back into the game but could a Big 2 little 1 or Big 3 really not be effected by the anti-trust rules like the Big 3 domestic auto makers here-Ford, GM, and Chrysler, are?

MGM is taking more control of James Bond while Sony has lost/is losing whatever rights they had.

I guess the deathwatch for Sony Pictures just got sped up.

Think so. But this is a tv series, multi-season. Think Game of Thrones in the LOTR universe though.

So many stories to tell in the second age. I recommend you google "The Similarrion'. Its basically an oral history of middle Earth from the beginning of time to when Sauron got defeated.

Sony Pictures wants to buy some of 21st Century Fox's assets.

Unless they get a bailout from the mother company or the mother company purges everyone in charge and fuses it with the video game branch to make one giant entertainment company, I just don't see this happening.

So here’s the conditions for Sony, regarding the new Tarantino movie.
